Did a live draft this morning for the family fantasy football league. In previous years we'd done an automatic draft. This was a lot more fun. Our league is called the Stone's Throw League, and my team is the Klingon Warriors. The draft results came out pretty well for me. The only player that I really wanted that I let... read more »
Senator Hatch recently made some comments in which he publicly endorsed the idea of allowing copyright holders to actually damage the computers of people who illegally trade copyrighted material. He then clarified those remarks (see here) but didn't really back away from the idea. Amish Tech Support noticed that Senator hatch's website might actually be infringing copyright, and wrote to... read more »
From an AP story on Supreme Court Justice Steven Breyer: Last year, he wrote alone in saying the court should consider whether long delays on death row are cruel and unusual punishment. Want a short wait on death row? Here's a tip: Stop appealing your sentence. If it was the government that was dragging things out, keeping the prisoner in... read more »
Some comments in response to CalPundit's post about the X2 movie say that the X-Men are liberals. Here's my response: I don't know where some of you are getting the idea that the X-Men are liberals. Xavier's school is an exclusive private school. Liberals would put the mutant kids in public schools because it's more egalitarian. The X-Men are not... read more »

The recent Supreme Court decision on "virtual" child pornography says that the government cannot ban sexual images... read more »
Cuba just executed some hijackers who hijacked a boat last week. They were given days to appeal their sentences. And they didn't kill anyone -- no one was even hurt. Now, I don't condone hijacking, but why haven't the usual suspects who complain when the U.S. executes a murderer been making a fuss over Cuba? (Note: This entry is from... read more »
The Command Post is right to be skeptical about this photo from CBS's web site, purporing to be a night-vision photo of B-52's flying over Baghdad: Thanks to a comment by Dave D. for the process to show that it is a fake. First, change the image to grayscale: Next, change it to a neagtive image: Now if you look... read more »
Over on The Corner, Kathryn Lopez passed on a suggestion from a reader that we contact the embassies of our allies to thank them for their support. I thought it was a good idea, so I've created a page with a list of our allies, and e-mail links for most of them. (Note: This entry is from my second attempt... read more »
California Changes Cell Phone Crash Data From the news story: The report counted only 913 accidents in 2001 in which officers indicated cell phone use was to blame. Three involved fatalities. But a Times analysis of traffic accident data showed the total would be higher if the CHP included all accidents in which the driver responsible for the crash was... read more »
