Progress

Made a little more progress on chapter 12 of my novel today. Having my writers' group meeting forced me to work on it, and I'm starting to get the feel of the novel back.

X2 x X

Saw X2 for the Xth time today. (That's Roman numeral X.) This time it was at a discount theater, though -- the first IX times were at a regular, first-run theater. What can I say? I love the movie. From the Nightcrawler attack on the White House at the beginning to the Phoenix image... read more »

Meanwhile, back in the City of Aud Sapeer…

I've been away from my novel so long (more than two months) that it's difficult getting back into writing it. I wrote a page last week, but I'm not really happy with it, and so I've been avoiding work on it. Grrr.

New scans

Carolyn's friend did fine in the bits we saw. But, let's just... read more »

Hush

Last night I watched the episode "Hush" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, season four. It reminded me how much I miss that show. Imaginative television at its best. This particular episode is remembered for the fact that for most of the episode, there is no spoken dialogue. I really liked season four. The first half more than the end, though,... read more »

Nobody Gets the Girl

Today I read a novel called Nobody Gets the Girl. It's by James Maxey, who went to Orson Scott Card's Literary Boot Camp one of the years before I did. It's a fun and imaginative book. Comic-book hero stuff. I basically read it straight through. Since comic books used to have letters pages where they would publish letters from fans... read more »
