Thanks to my story "Betrayer of Trees," I'll be spending the next week at the Writers of the Future workshop, which culminates in the awards ceremony Friday evening at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle. I've been looking forward to this for the past year, as I had a great time at the workshop last year.

I was supposed to do a book signing on Saturday, but the book distributor sent the books to the wrong place, so it got cancelled. Apparently Tivo is trying to find ways to encourage viewers to watch ads so Tivo can make money off of advertising. For the most part, I don't want to watch advertising -- that's one of the reasons I have Tivo in the first place. I bought the book a little after midnight last night, and I finished it a few minutes ago. (I was not reading continuously in between.) I think it's very good, and even if I managed to guess some of its twists, others eluded me.
