We’re #1! We’re #1!

Going into Monday Night Football, my fantasy football team, the Klingon Warriors, was ahead by 13.33 points. However, I had no players left, and my opponent, the Wallabies (run by my cousin Greg), had Donovan McNabb, who is certainly capable of scoring more than 13.33 points. Two touchdowns, or even one touchdown plus some good yardage, would be enough to... read more »

I’m Dan Rydell alongside Casey McCall…

Just finished watching the final DVD of Sports Night. It's really too bad it got cancelled after such a short time on the air. As far as I'm concerned, it was one of the best-written sitcoms ever. The dialogue is filled with nitpicking about details and playing around with words. (Hmm. I don't do that, do I?) This entry was... read more »

FreeCell

I've been playing Acid FreeCell on my Clie. Before my previous Clie died, I had played over 150 times, and had a winning percentage of about 82%. My longest winning streak was 16 games. On my new Clie, I've played 78 games. My record is 75-3. I've had one streak of 37 wins and another of 26. Just lucky? Probably.... read more »

BYU @ USC

I'm going over to my grandfather's place this evening to watch the game. My hopes are high and my expectations are low. I hope BYU pulls off a stunning upset of #4 USC. I will be satisfied if BYU manages to keep their consecutive scoring streak alive. I will be happy if BYU manages to beat the 22-point spread. I... read more »

Moral victory?

Well, BYU kept the scoring streak alive and beat the point spread. It was an exciting game -- and though the final score makes it look like it wasn't close, BYU was down by only three with just a few minutes left in the game. If BYU hadn't made so many mistakes in the first quarter, they probably would have... read more »

Oblogation

Woo-hoo!

Angel, Season Two, arrived from Amazon.com today. But I'm not watching it, because the first two discs of Stargate SG-1, Season Four, arrived fron Netflix. It's a disctravaganza! I've already watched the season opener of SG-1, so the cliffhanger from a few days ago is resolved. You know, in some ways it's a lot better to watch a TV show... read more »

Arrrrr!

Talk Like A Pirate Day is coming soon, so in preparation for that I finally got around to seeing Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday. It really was a lot of fun. It was a great blend of action and humor.

Cognitive dissonance

Yahoo! News - Iraqi Man Demands End to U.S. Occupation A member of the U.S.-picked governing council angrily denounced the American occupation in a eulogy for his slain brother before 400,000 Shiite mourners Tuesday, demanding U.S. troops leave Iraq (news - web sites) and blaming them for lax security that led to the revered cleric's assassination. So, I assume that... read more »

Buffy, Season 4

I just finished watching Buffy, Season 4. Even though it's probably my least-favorite season of the show, it's still better than the best seasons of most shows. Watching it now, after having seen the rest of the series (aparticularly Season 5), I was able to catch tiny little touches that foreshadow what is to come. When I first saw the... read more »
