Someone recently told me he found the starfield background of my blog distracting. (That person would have remained nameless had our parents not chosen to call him Jonathan.) Well, it just so happens that I like it. But, in case you agree with him, I've added something over at the top of the left column to let you choose a... read more »
I just finished watching Bicentennial Man. I remember reading the Isaac Asimov story it was based on, but don't really remember the details of the original story, so I don't know how different the plot of the movie is. Overall, the movie was a little slow in places, but I found it interesting overall. The question of what rights a... read more »
Rodents Of Unusual Size? From Yahoo! news:A rodent the size of a buffalo? Researchers say they have found fossils for a 1,545-pound giant that thrived millions of years ago in a swampy South American forest. The article doesn't say whether the swamp might also have contained flame spurts and lightning sand.
It was, in fact, Antonio Bryant's catch that put the finishing touch on my fantasy football team's win. The Klingon Warriors crushed the Local Sheriffs (owned by my brother Michael) with a score of 105.58 to 59.30. Once again, the Klingon Warriors had the high score of the week. Last night's football game was a good one. (OK, maybe I think that because I'm a Cowboys fan and the Cowboys won.) Still, the finish was pretty interesting. Dallas had a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter, and then the Giants not only tie the game, but go on to kick a field goal with 11 seconds left to take... read more »

I tried various things to get it back, but eventually concluded it was my ISP's problem. It still wasn't working before I left for work this morning. I e-mailed them from work asking... read more »
What a surprise! Stargate SG-1, Season 4, ended in a cliffhanger, just like the first three seasons. But now I have to wait until the Season 5 DVD's come out, and I can't even find a firm release date for them. (Someone on a bulletin board says "after the first of the year.") Strangely enough, they are already out in... read more »
Today's Tank McNamara strip: This entry was written in part while under the influence of "Hello (Turn Your Radio On)" by Shakespear's Sister, off the Hormonally Yours album.
Guess those Vegas oddsmakers knew about the 30-mph winds and that Matt Berry was going to break his hand. BYU won 10-7, just barely beating the point spread. I heard on the radio that this was BYU's lowest winning score since 1986. Still, a win's a win. This entry was written in part while under the influence of "Ein Bißchen... read more »
