Beginning of a mystery.
When Peter boarded the chartered boat to get to the island, there was only one other passenger on board, an attractive brunette in her thirties. No wedding ring. He sat down across from her and asked, “Are you part of the consumer test group, too?”
“Yes.” She looked him over. “How many of us do you suppose there are?”
“Well, we’ve only got room for another ten passengers or so, but I don’t know. Maybe they’ll make more than one trip.”
She nodded.
He stretched out his hand for her to shake. “I’m Peter, by the way. Peter Parker.” He watched her carefully to see if she recognized the name. Most people who did smiled, even if they were too polite to say anything.
She frowned slightly. “That’s funny.”
