My brother Michael is a big Denver Broncos fan. They lost in the last minute of Monday Night Football.
The New England Patriots, down 23-24, took an intentional safety instead of punting out of their own endzone. That made it a three-point game. Their defense then held Denver, so they got the ball back. Then they marched down the field and scored a touchdown to win the game. That’s the first time I can recall seeing a game where taking an intentional safety worked to help the team win the game.
Again this week I was two out of three in the games that mattered to me: BYU lost, the Dallas Cowboys won, and my fantasy football Klingon Warriors won (despite both my primary running backs being out with byes.).
