Zion in the midst of Babylon
Yesterday, during the concluding session of the April General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder David R. Stone gave an excellent talk (audio|dialup video|broadband video). Elder Stone just happens to be my father. I want to congratulate him on a job well done.

Eric, We took a poll at family night on Monday, and your father’s talk got three of seven votes for “favorite talk from this past conference.” Including the most important vote (mine). No other talk received more than one. It was excellent.
Gordon,
Thanks for your comment. I passed it on to my dad.
Well that is a cool factoid, Eric! Now that I know this maybe I’ll have to post on his excellent talk too.
My teenage son gave the lesson in FHE yesterday on his favorite talk from conference. This was the one he chose, and I agree with his judgement.
Your father’s talk was the most poignant talk I have ever heard in conference in 10 years of church membership. I just reread it, and again it made my heart swell. You, like Nephi, are so very blessed to have been born of goodly parents. Wow.
I really loved his talk too. It was great to be there in person with my daughter.
Eric – Tell your father (and my former mission president) hello from me. You father is a man that I greatly respect. No man that I have personally known has influenced me (from a spiritual standpoint) to the extent of “Presidente E’ Ton.”
I expected nothing less from his talk. He has never failed to deliver profounding speaches and insight.
Eric,
I loved the talk, and also blogged about it:
