Just call me a rolling Stone

So I kept going, and while it’s now after midnight, I still count any work before going to sleep as part of the previous day.

Total word count for the day: 4026.

Total word count on the novel: 149,686.

Total words left to go: 0.

In other words, I’m done. Finished. Finito.

Next comes the revising.

Congrats man. So, any opinions of your novel now that it’s done? Do you like it? Do you think it’s competitive? (of course, I assume we’re talking about after it is all prettied and polished)

Well, here’s a quote from Orson Scott Card:

“…the greatest work of genius ever written in English.”

Unfortunately, he’s not talking about my novel, so I probably shouldn’t have even brought it up in this context.

I hope that, with some revision, it will be publishable. I’m pretty sure that if someone else had written this novel, I would have really enjoyed reading it. But my tastes and the tastes of publishers do not always intersect.

Well, it’s got a couple of fans in the Wenger household.

    Congratulations.

Congrats, man! I’m excited to read it. I’ve been trying to read it from the beginning, but I get confused with the etnire chunk of the middle that I read. I guess I’ll just read to the end and start over and meet myself in the middle. Kind of like the Star Wars movies. But better writing.

I am so proud of you Eric! I am so excited to read it! I can still rememeber how much I loved the prologue and how disappointed I was that there was nothing more to read at that point - I have been dying to know what happened next. My decision to wait until it was finished has left me itching for what seems like 10 years, but I think was only 2? I sure wish it was Friday so I could just start reading and not stop until I was done! Once again, congratulations on your accomplishment. I’ll be posting my “review” as soon as I can. :-)

Woohoo!!!! You must be so proud of yourself.
What’s that movie with Chevy Chase in it? With the iceskaters and “cue the deer”?
Wanting to write a novel, deciding to write a novel and then actually writing a novel are very different things. Congratulations, you have actually written a novel.
    I am so proud.
