“By the Hands of Juan Peron”
Well, the Codex contest it over, and my story, “By the Hands of Juan Peron,” took first place. I’m very pleased, since the standard of competition is high. That makes the prize — the admiration of my peers — all the more valuable.
The items I used from the lists were:
- A nun spontanesously combusts
- The spleen of a former South American military leader
- A myopic alien
- A red room
- The inside of a neutrino detector
