I went to a liquidation sale at the Salt Palace this afternoon. I’d heard it advertised on the radio, and they talked up the tech aspect of it. I thought I might find some good deals on computer equipment, like I used to at computer shows a few years ago when I lived back East.
I really miss those computer shows. The first computer I built myself was built with components from a show. Some of those shows had fifty or more dealers selling everything from cables to complete systems.
This was different. The largest area of the sale was taken up by a stereo equipment dealer — I’ve never seen so many speaker parts in one place before. There was a computer equipment dealer; not much of a selection, though. Sunglasses dealer. Perfume dealer. Sword dealer. (I kid you not!)
I came away with a couple of sun-visor CD folders and a leather overcoat. No computer equipment.
