Did a live draft this morning for the family fantasy football league. In previous years we’d done an automatic draft. This was a lot more fun.
Our league is called the Stone’s Throw League, and my team is the Klingon Warriors. The draft results came out pretty well for me. The only player that I really wanted that I let slip too far was Brian Urlacher. But I got Ray Lewis instead, and as long as he’s recovered from last season’s injury, I’m in good shape.
Since we’re an ongoing league, we used the first two rounds for “keepers” from last season. Since I was keeping two RB’s, I was planning to pick a QB with my first non-keeper pick, but when the pick came and Travis Henry was still available, I decided to pick him up. So I’m overloaded on premier RB’s.
Fortunately, the QB I was planning to take, Aaron Brooks, was still available in the fifth round. (Not pure luck — I knew that after my fourth-round pick, every team that would pick before my fifth-round pick already had a QB, so I picked up Torry Holt instead.)
We’ll see how this season goes. I ended up fourth out of ten last time.
