LDS Scripture Linker

This script works by parsing through a page looking for references to scripture. So, if you want to talk about Moroni's promise (Moroni 10:3-5), the Ten Commandments (Ex. 20), or even just Article of Faith 13, you can just put the reference and the script will do the rest.

The script works on a function call, so you can either call the function LinkScriptures() once the page has finished loading, or you can on demand. (Click the button to see it in action.)

Notes:

This script works in IE 6 (and should work from IE 4 on.) It works in Netscape 7, but not Netscape 4.72. It may work in other browsers as well, but has not been tested in them.
In order to accommodate non-consecutive verses, such as D&C 4:1-2, 4, commas adjacent to verse numbers get considered as part of the scripture reference. So a comma after a reference gets included as part of the link. you can avoid this by putting references in parentheses (JS-H 1:17, 19-20).
