The Amazing Race 5

I never really got into the whole “reality TV” craze over the past few years. For example, I’ve never watched an episode of Survivor, or any of the marrying-people-off shows. However, my sister Julie forced me to watch an episode of The Amazing Race a couple of years ago when I was visiting, and it was actually kind of fun to watch. So I watched it last season (#4) and now I’m watching it this season.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, it starts with 11 teams who participate in an around-the-world race. Each team consists of two people with some sort of relationship: friends, dating, married, parent-child, twins, etc. Each week (with a couple of exceptions) the last team to arrive at the “pit stop” gets eliminated from the race. There are also various challenges along the way.

The only team that I actively disliked got eliminated this week (week 2), so I guess I’ll have to find someone else to root against. I haven’t really decided who I’m rooting for, yet. Right now I lean toward the team of Jim & Marsha, a father/daughter team.

    Brent,

I tried e-mailing you, but the message bounced for some reason. I’m not sure that I can help, but I’d be willing to give it a try. Please contact me with a different e-mail address I can use.

your blog looks gerat and it just partially solved my problem with typekey (need to to change type preferences to mt-comments.cgi)..but my blog is not so great..do you know enough about MT to possibly work on getting my comments, authentication and trackback working properly? I don’t think it’s that tough and would gladly pay you for a few hours of your time.

    Thanks!

You’re smart - reality TV will drag you in like quicksand in…in…wherever quicksand is. Pretty soon, you’ll want your fix, and then there’s no telling what reality show crap you end up watching.

You’re blog is superb. Additionally, you’re email address is non-existent. I suppose that you’ve had problems with spam in the past. I don’t have Typekey, so hopefully, you don’t opt to filter my post. I’m having some problems with referral and ‘most read entries’. Could you help out a fellow MTer ?
